The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. Just eleven years later, in 1892, he established the 'Seikosha' factory where the evolution began.

In 1969 SEIKO revolutionized the watchmaking industry with the Seiko Quartz Astron, the world’s first quartz watch. SEIKO continues to be at the forefront of watch innovation with a constant emphasis on innovative technology and a finely honed approach to design, creating watches that have a strong emotional appeal and functionality that will enrich the lives of our customers.
